Aims: To examine the skills required to facilitate and effectively participate in meetings and to learn and practice the techniques of powerful and persuasive communication.
 
Objectives: At the end of the course, delegates will be
able to:

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
 
Content:
  • Why meetings can fail; understanding group dynamics; checklist for successful meetings
  • Keeping the meeting on track
  • Preventing time wasting, encouraging participation
  • Establishing trust and rapport; influencing self and others; how our message is sent; how we take in information
  • Planning and structuring the content; delivery with confidence; dealing with questions; overcoming anxiety.
 
Method: Delegates will receive reference material. The emphasis will be on enhanced knowledge, understanding and skills development gained through discussion, exchange of views and practical exercises.
